We support: Geoff Ellsworth for St. Helena Mayor

As I write this, we’re two months away from Election Day. We’ve hit the ground running in the month since I shared news of my campaign with you. It’s thanks to your support, whether through endorsements, donations, posting yard signs, or by simply following my Facebook page and encouraging others to do the same, that we’ve come this far.

My Values

Growing up in St. Helena, I knew I had been raised in a community like no other. From our sprawling green hills to our local wine to our walkable downtown, we have a lot to be proud of. That’s why I’m dedicated to ensuring St. Helena can continue to be a city for all of us. I stand for:

  • Promoting a high quality of life in St. Helena through maintaining parks, roads, and libraries
  • Lowering water bills while preserving our natural resources, and
  • Bringing new energy to solve St. Helena’s long-standing quality-of-life challenges

Standing Up for Fair Water Rates

We all depend on water. Water is what turns our grapes into wine and gives life to people and businesses of every stripe in St. Helena. I stand for responsible water management that will ensure St. Helenians are charged fairly for water while preserving our valuable water sources.

At a recent City Council meeting, I spoke out about the importance of better understanding the infrastructure and services we need to ensure all water users are charged fairly for this precious resource. Watch my speech below:

CalPERS: The Situation is Far From Dire

There’s no denying that our city’s CalPERS pension liability is an important issue. But unlike what the Mayor has suggested, there is no need to dig into our existing reserves immediately to address the problem. The CalPERS situation is far from dire.

With responsible fiscal planning, St. Helena is well-equipped to handle our CalPERS liability. Read my latest op-ed in the St. Helena Star here.

Councilwoman Koberstein, Cio Perez, and Others Endorse My Campaign

I’m proud to announce that a number of prominent local leaders have endorsed my campaign, representing a wide spectrum of interests in St. Helena.
Among them:

  • Napa Vision 2050
  • Mary Koberstein, St. Helena City Councilwoman
  • Gayle McLaughlin, two-term Richmond Mayor and candidate for Lieutenant Governor
  • Juan Reardon, Richmond Progressive Alliance co-founder
  • Cio Perez, Napa Farm Bureau Board member (ret)
  • Amy Martenson, Napa Valley College Board of Trustees
  • Oscar de Haro, Napa City College Vice President for Student Services

And I’m especially heartened by the number of local residents who have submitted endorsements of their own, whether on Facebook or on my website. Thank you. This election is ultimately about setting a course for the kind of community we want to build in St. Helena.
