Winery Waste Discharge Meeting

Got GSA? Got questions? Save the Date June 26th

This just in … mark your calendar if you can make time to provide feedback to the DWR on their latest change in basin status in Sonoma County.

In follow-up to the email regarding California Department of Water Resources’ draft reprioritization of groundwater basins, we wanted to let you know that DWR will be holding a “listening session” on Tuesday, June 26, 1 p.m. in Healdsburg, at the Krug Event Center at the Best Western Dry Creek Inn, 198 Dry Creek Road.

The purpose of the meeting is for DWR to receive comments regarding its draft reprioritization of basins, which in Sonoma County, includes the elevation of the following groundwater basins to medium priority: Alexander Valley, Healdsburg Basin (Dry Creek plus a stretch of the lower river), and Wilson Grove Highlands Formation (west Sebastopol, Petaluma and parts of the coast). Also, as you know Santa Rosa Plain was reprioritized from medium to high (as were Sonoma Valley and Petaluma Valley).  This change has no immediate impact on the basins, as medium and high priority basins are subject to the same deadlines and requirements under SGMA.
