Daily Acts is teaming up with garden owners to provide behind-the-scenes tours of beautiful, eco-friendly gardens in Petaluma, Windsor, and Cotati.
Here are a few more details for each location:
Petaluma: For this tour, we’ll be traveling from East to West to show off Petaluma’s best! We will begin with several Eastside homes that demonstrate how you can live large with low impact, less wasteful, locally-based landscapes. Next, we’ll make a pit-stop at our Petaluma Regional Library “Living Learning Landscape” which features a resourceful rain garden alongside charming native plants. Finally, we’ll finish up at several ecological, economical, and elegant homes in mid-town that have bountiful beneficial features including greywater systems, raised beds, and fruit trees!

Windsor: We’ll start with a meandering journey through community demonstration site, Foothill of Windsor, that highlights an HOA community coming together for the sake of water conservation. Next, to Cali Calmecac School where we will tell the story of teamwork and determination to establish a 2,650 gallon rain tank that now feeds the school’s garden. We’ll end by walking over to a local residence that highlights sheet mulching, low-water use plants, drip irrigation and a garden fed by a laundry-to-landscape greywater system!

Cotati: We’ll kick off this walking tour with a some cohousing magic. Get to see what’s possible in community and with more hands. Our second stop is a D.I.Y’ers dream, featuring hops for home beer brewing, rainwater catchment to fill the jacuzzi and more. The last home will feature a beautiful rain garden and a look into the early stages after a lawn conversion.
