Do you love your granny (flat)? Talk to us about it and we’ll pay you up to $350
As part of the County’s housing initiatives, we are seeking homeowners with an accessory dwelling unit (ADU) (converted garage, basement apartment, granny flat, backyard cottage, etc.) or tenants who live in an ADU to participate in a project to get more ADUs built — we’ll pay up to $350 for your participation! Specifically, we are looking to photograph/record people and their ADUs for a printed Inspiration and Idea booklet and video. The videos and booklet will tell the story of folks, just like you, and their ADUs. Single-family homeowners or tenants who live in any type of ADU are encouraged to participate. We will work with you to make your spotlight accurately reflect your story. The videos will be strictly informational and we won’t use your address.
We are also recruiting people who own or live in an ADU to participate in a focus group. We are offering $100 if we can take photographs inside and outside of your ADU, and another $100 if you participate in a video ($200 total). We are offering $150 for participation in the focus group. You will also be helping your neighbors who are thinking about building ADUs.
The materials will be shared on an ADU website and in a printed inspiration book targeted to homeowners in Napa and Sonoma counties who are interested in building an ADU. The videos and photography will be shot on your property by a professional videographer in April or May 2019. All original footage/pictures will also be made available to you. See www.SecondUnitCenterSMC.org for a sample from another county. For more information and to sign up, please visit http://www.TalkAboutMyADU.org/. We will review all applications and determine if you are a good fit for the video/photo project and/or the focus group. Respond by April 15th for priority consideration. Have questions?
