Action Request from Coast Action Group:
Redwood Chapter – Sierra Club Needles – Stream Protections – CEQA and Napa County
I was reading the article in the Redwood Chapter Needles about the
Napa Ordinance – Water Quality and Tree Protection Ordinance.
The article that the new ordinance applied protection – a 35′ buffer
– for class III watercourses. This is good. Class IIIs are
important in the system of how watersheds work.
The article said that CEQA requires 50′ buffers for Class III. This
is totally incorrect – and – would be good if true.
Please straighten them out.
SB 69 (Senator Weiner) – Ocean, stream flows, and Stream Protections
in forestry for fish and wildlife – is still alive .
This bill has made it thru several committees – but will face stiff
opposition as it move on.
Please check this bill out
