CONGAS: ACTION ALERT!: 5300 Sebastopol Road, Sebastopol – proposed gas station, carwash and mini-mart.

Hi CONGAS membersACTION ALERT!: 5300 Sebastopol Road, Sebastopol – proposed gas station, carwash and mini-mart.

Comments needed by June 26 in response to Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND).

The link to the relevant documents, just received this morning, is here: https://migcom.egnyte.com/fl/vG0aThJjNj

See also attached the Notice of Intent released yesterday from Permit Sonoma (also published in the PD) notifying the public that a 30-day CEQA public hearing review period for the proposed gas station, car wash and mini-mart at 5300 Sebastopol Road (between Sebastopol and Santa Rosa, at Hwy 12/Llano Road and adjacent to the Joe Rodota trail) begins May 27.

Written comments need to be submitted to the Board of Zoning Adjustments (BZA) by June 26 (see below for contact info.)  A virtual public hearing is tentatively scheduled on July 2.

Letters submitted will need to address the IS/MND specifically (not just be general comments about the project).

Important: There is no guarantee that the members of the Board of Zoning Adjustments will have seen the letters that were previously submitted. If you have already submitted a letter, it will be on file with Permit Sonoma, but the BZA won’t receive it until a week before the hearing. So now is the time to send it again to all five BZA members and staff listed below. If you have not yet submitted a letter, now is the time!

With copies to the Project Planner, Daniel Hoffman: dhoffman@migcom.com

and Arielle Wright, Planning Secretary: Arielle.Wright@sonoma-county.org

The Board of Zoning Adjustments is made up of five members of the Planning Agency on a rotating basis.  The members for June & July rotation are:

Todd Tamura, Chair – District 2 – Todd.Tamura@gmail.com

Richard Fogg, District 1 – sonomafogg@aol.com
John Lowry, District 5 – JohnLowryCA@gmail.com
Cameron Mauritson – District 4 – cameron@mauritsonfarms.com
Paula Cook – District 3 – pcook@ch-sc.org
We’ll be reviewing the IS/MND and coming up with some talking points specifically in response to the IS/MND, soon, and are also thinking of another CONGAS zoom call soon so that we can share thoughts and strategize.
Please stay posted – and be well!
