Protected Forever: Mill Bend Gualala River

Forest Unlimited Supporters,
Mill Bend.

Here is some good environmental news. As you know, the best thing we can do to protect our natural resources in perpetuity is to purchase the land.  We thought you should know about the Mill Bend purchase. If any of you choose to support this, that would be great.  More information can be attained by clicking on the link “Read More” that will take you to the web page.

Thank you for those who are supporting us with donations to the virtual Summer BBQ that has been cancelled this year.
Hope everyone is staying safe.

Redwood Coast Land Conservancy receives major grant for Mill Bend purchase

We are pleased to announce exciting news about Mill Bend.  RCLC has received a $845,000 state grant that will help purchase the 113-acre Mill Bend property at the mouth of the Gualala River.  The property is currently being held by a conservation buyer.

This grant is a major step toward achieving our funding goals for the Mill Bend project. The grant was awarded to RCLC by the California Natural Resources Agency and the California Transportation Commission through the Environmental Enhancement and Mitigation Program designed to offset environmental impacts caused by state transportation projects.

RCLC has applied for a total of $2,100,000 in state, federal and other grant funds to cover the full costs of the Mill Bend acquisition and to help fund site assessments and planning. We expect the results of other grant applications to be announced soon.  Read More
