The people who reforest Sonoma County: Forest Unlimited’s Summer Fundraiser and Request

Forest Unlimited’s Summer Fundraiser and Request

Hello Forest Unlimited Supporters,
On behalf of our Board of Directors, we send our best wishes to you and yours for good health and pleasant experiences sheltering in place. For some, the virus has been traumatic and to others it’s been more like a futuristic adventure thrust upon them. In any event, we will continue to work hard to minimize global threats like climate change and to help keep our forests and watersheds healthy.
Given the uncertainties and other challenges of planning too far into the future, we are sad to announce that we will have to postpone our annual Summer Dinner Under the Redwoods until next summer in 2021.  Because we get to reconnect with our members and to hear from speakers who are leaders in forestry, biology, and law, we always look forward to our annual fundraiser.

Instead of supporting us through the barbeque, we are asking folks to stay safe and make a donation that will go toward their very own tree, a tree for a friend, a tree for a loved one, a couple of trees for a couple about to get married, a student ready to graduate, or just for the future in general.

We are requesting $60/per 2-year old redwood which is the equivalent of a ticket for a salmon dinner with all the fixin’s (or less if vegetarian).
Please make donations to Forest Unlimited, PO Box 506, Forestville CA  95436 or using the online donation at and put dinner in the memo line.

In January of 2021, we will purchase and plant 2000 of these baby redwoods in the Jenner Headlands to replace the sick tan oaks and bolster the multi-age Redwood and Douglas Fir forest on the coast.  It is a big undertaking involving many volunteers, supplies, lunches, and time.  A donation this June will definitely feed your sole if not your tummy.

Forests Still Need YOU
Last January, we were fortunate to be able to carry out our Tree Planting event and planted 1400 redwoods with the help of about 120 volunteers of all ages, shapes, and sizes.
This and many other watershed protection activities keep us busy.  We will miss seeing you this June and look forward to seeing you around the county and definitely at our 2021 Dinner Under the Redwoods for a fun auction, satisfying camaraderie, great food, and beverages!
THANK YOU for your support – past and present, and look forward to your participation and support this year.
Larry Hanson, Board President
