CONGAS ALERT:
MARK YOUR CALENDARS: August 18th, 4pm public hearing on gas station at Hwy 12 and Wright Rd.
Hello All,
I hope you all enjoyed the long interdependence weekend. I did.
We have an update on the 874 N. Wright Road (Highway 12 & Wright/Fulton Rd).
Please mark your calendars for a Santa Rosa City Council virtual public hearing on this proposal on Tuesday, August 18, starting at 4pm and going till?
If you recall, this is the one on Hwy 12 inside Santa Rosa city limits on the west side of the city on undeveloped land (see photo). This is the one where we raised $529 back in December to file an appeal of a Santa Rosa Planning Commission Subdivision Committee decision approving a parcel map waiver. Thanks to all the CONGAS members who pitched in!
Today we received an email from the City Planner stating that they have: “…tentatively scheduled your appeal of the Subdivision Committee’s approval of the Parcel Map Waiver for Elm Tree Station for August 18, 2020. It will be a virtual meeting and I will send you access information as it becomes available. It will be noticed like any Public Hearing (e.g., owners and occupants with a 600-ft radius, notice in the Press Democrat, onsite signage). You will have an opportunity for 10 or 15 minute presentation (I will confirm)….Typically, the appeal hearing consists of a 10 minute Staff presentation, a 2-3 minute presentation from the approval body’s chair (in this case, the Planning Commission Representative of the Subdivision Committee), a 10 minute applicant presentation, 10 minute appellant presentation, 5 minute applicant response, then discussion amongst the [City] Council.”
To be clear, this appeal is heard before the full Santa Rosa City Council. Because the city council has made proclamations and declarations and commitments about addressing the climate crisis, this is a good venue in which to bring up these issues. Meetings usually start at around 4pm, so please mark your calendars and plan to make a comment if you can.
As I get more info I will share it.
Here is a photo I took of the location back in January after some rain. Hmmm, think anyone already lives here?
