UPDATE: REJECTED UNANIMOUSLY: Oppose Luxury Resort in CS – Public Hearing –

The unanimous 4 – 0 vote against luxury resort in community remains in limbo due to county staff failures so it will come back and things could change.

We had super strong testimony from about 25 community leaders, voters and experts along with 300 comments sent in opposing so the BZA agreed 100 percent that the project needs to be denied.

But now it is unclear as it was only a straw vote because Permit Sonoma and County Counsel didn’t even bother to draft a denial resolution. Unbelievable disrespect for the Commissioners and the public. We can only hope the straw man vote holds now.

The decision was delayed because Permit Sonoma did not have a Denial Resolution available. It will go back to the BZA and so they could change their votes or otherwise mess with the vote. This is far from over.

Hello amazing friends and colleagues,

Thank you for your outpouring of support to defend the voter-approved community separator greenbelts from a proposed luxury resort and event center! Your response has been fantastic even in this very challenging time.

The emails and letters are pouring into the email boxes of all the decisionmakers! Hundreds of people have sent in emails or signed petitions and about a dozen key enviro, labor, transportation and political groups have sent in letters! See list at bottom.
Thanks to you we have their attention!!!!

If you are able, please join the public hearing on this project at 1:45 pm July 9 at the Sonoma County Board of Adjustments who will be voting on the luxury resort! See details below on Zoom and call-in -info.

ALSO IF YOU WILL JOIN THE CALL AND GIVE ME YOUR THREE MINUTES I CAN MAKE A 10-MINUTE PRESENTATION TO THE BZA! You’ll need to be on the Zoom call, so I can say the names of the people who have granted me their time. Let me know, but don’t deed your time if you plan to make a comment!!!!
[You can see SOME of the comment letters if you download the full staff report package here but it is 65 MB.]  https://sonomacounty.ca.gov/Board-of-Zoning-Adjustments/Calendar/Board-of-Zoning-Adjustments-Meeting-July-9-2020/}

Thank you so much!
