Please join us for a cutting edge community forum on wildfire resilience featuring a presentation by Alexandra D. Syphard, Ph.D., focussing on recent wildfire trends in California, comparing the roles of climate change and land use change in altering fire patterns, and the importance of land use change in wildfire risk to human lives and property.

Dr. Syphard is chief scientist at Vertus Wildfire, and also an associate with the Conservation Biology Institute and adjunct professor at San Diego State University. She has spent more than two decades analyzing the ecological and social drivers and impacts of landscape change, particularly focusing on wildfire and how to balance fire risk reduction with biodiversity conservation
